Steps to follow if you cannot track your driver's location

Please go through the following instruction to make sure the driver was assigned on load correctly:

1️⃣ Double check if you assigned the correct driver:

  • if you assigned a unit - go to Fleet - Units and check if the phone number is correct and it matches with the current driver's one.

  • if you used "Track by driver's phone number" feature - double check if you used the correct number and it matches with the current driver's one.

2️⃣ Make sure the driver has ivia driver app in his phone. If you assigned the driver correctly, they should see this load on the main screen as well as the blue location dot in the middle of the screen.

Here's how it should look like in the driver's app:

3️⃣If the driver does not see the blue location dot in the app, make him check the settings of his phone to make sure ivia driver app is allowed to access location "All the time".

4️⃣ If the steps above were followed and you still cannot see the location - ask the driver to restart his phone.

5️⃣ If it does not help, ask the driver to remove ivia driver app from his phone, restart the phone, download ivia driver app again and login to his account.

6️⃣ Be aware of your device’s settings: Some Android devices may automatically disable background activity for apps to conserve battery life. This can affect the driver’s location tracking. We recommend visiting the resource dontkillmyapp.com to learn what additional settings you can adjust to prevent app services from being disabled. This is especially relevant for brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Samsung, which frequently activate such features.

After following these steps you should be able to see the driver's location.
